YPSILANTI: Depot Town ushers in holiday season

A few years ago, I conducted an interview while on the assignment to cover a Christmas Tree lighting celebration recently. Here’s the Exclusive Interview that made my day:

Three-year-old Judah came out with his parents to celebrate. After posing with Santa, I asked him for an interview about his experience –to which he made his demands clear: he would answer my questions outside. Once, outside he sat on the bench and gazed at the tree across the street.

 Q. So, what was your favorite part about tonight’s celebration?

A. “Every part,” said Judah.

Q. Every part?
A. “Yes. Every part was my favorite part –the songs, like Jingle Bells..the tree, Santa. Every part.”

Q. What other things have you done to get ready for Christmas?
A. We decorated at home.

Q. So you helped decorate the tree?
A. Yes, But, we didn’t just decorate the tree; we decorated all over. But, our tree is way smaller.

Q. Sounds like you have had a good day?
A. I have.

Merry Christmas,
