Juneteenth Symposium Celebration

The University of Michigan and its partner, the Ann Arbor Branch of the NAACP, will host the University’s 2nd Annual Juneteenth Symposium. The theme is Celebrate, Educate, Inspire.
This year’s special guests Opal Lee, “the grandmother of Juneteenth,” and Minnijean Brown Trickey, a member of the Little Rock 9 will take part is a range of discussions on topics from racial trauma and mental health in the Black community and celebrating the role of the Black Church to the foundations of Critical Race Theory.
Participants will also have the opportunity to celebrate at a music festival on Friday.
