In 2019, I participated in a study on the Historical Racist Violence and Intergenerational Harms: Accounts from Descendants of Lynching Victims, conducted by Dr. Shytierra Gaston at Northeastern University. Below is a summary of the findings of the interviews she conducted. My voice is used several times, but under pseudonym. It’s amazing that so many of our experiences echo and affirm one another, even though we did not meet or interact with other participants.
